Just two seconds of audio of a gruff, barking, alpha-male laugh at the end of an Instagram video of SNL -alumnus Slate en route to the premiere of her first major studio film The Secret Life Of Pets.

They went on holiday - to Australia! But alas, 'twas not to be. In January this year the pair announced their split. Slate moved into a one-bedroom apartment in a trendy part of Los Angeles and bought a dog. And now she's given a very revealing interview to New York Magazine, dishing on what it was like to date the most famous man in the world for ten glorious months.

Supplied "I didn't think I was his type" The first revelation from the piece is that the year-old comedian initially rejected Evans' advances because she didn't think he was really attracted to her. He's Captain America after all! Slate and Evans met on the set of their film together and immediately hit it off.
They shared a sense of humour, they grew up just hours away from each other in Massachusetts, knew all the same people. When they went out for dinner, Slate insisted they split the bill, despite protestations from Evans who wanted to pay for both of them.
Slate insisted it was part of her feminist creed to always pay her way. I wanted to step into the light. I first really liked Chris as a person because he is so unpretentious. He is a straight-up year-old man who wants to play games. His heart is probably golden-coloured, if you could paint it.
It doesn't seem like they'll get back together Slate was pretty definitive on that point. She said she'd like a scientist boyfriend next, someone who knows who Gloria Steinem is. Whoever it is, though, will have both figuratively and literally big shoes to fill. Chris wears a US size Slate knew that Evans was recently on the cover of Esquire and referenced that interview - where he jumped out of a plane - in her New York Magazine interview.
Evans, by contrast, wouldn't talk about Slate to Esquire. And while it wasn't quite Tom Hiddleston-levels of torturous broken-heartedness, the Esquire writer noted that "You can almost feel his heart pinch.
